"Margo,
Today Solière had his temperament test by the Delta Society so that he can become a Pet Partner. Well he passed and was awesome. He got a perfect score and the evaluator made comments/extra notes about how sweet and stable his temperament is.
He got a special rating making him eligible to do therapy work in very complex situations (ie. disasters and such). He will start doing visits at Kansas University medical center which is the largest hospital in the Kansas City area. The evaluator said he is the first Beauceron to get this certification!" -Christina

"Hey guys just wanted to share some more great news.
Who would have thought this past month could have gotten any better?! It started out with the completion of a OA & OAJ (Open Agility and Open Agility Jumpers) on the same day with both being 1st places, then a TD (Tracking Dog) that led to the VCD2 (Versatile Companion Dog 2) and now today we finished our Utility Dog obedience title! He completed this in 3 shows straight and placed every time!
Because he has now completed his CD, CDX, & UD in less than a year he is also receiving the Front and Finish Obedience Platinum Excellence Award. This is FFX's highest award and is only given to dogs who either achieve their titles in their first 3 shows with scores of 195+ or complete their CD, CDX, & UD in twelve months.
I'm not sure if it is true yet but unofficially they think he is the youngest dog of any breed to receive this award.
This also makes this Solière's 11th AKC title."

"Hello Margo.
Phrygia was a real trooper today. I am so proud of her and relieved that I did not let her down.
She scored a 75 out of 100, which is a good ( gut ) rating but the judge did not see her grip so she lost 8 points.
She actually gripped 3 times and several other competitors confirmed that they had seen at least one. Oh well, I'm just thrilled to have titled the first Beauceron as an HGH dog!!!
The most common observation from the other competitors and various guests was that we presented a "pretty picture" because of the teamwork, and that Phrygia is so obedient.
Here are the details:
1. Title is Herdengebrauchshund (HGH) or "herding utility dog"
2. Herding regulations are from the German Shepherd Dog Association (Germany)
3. Event was sanctioned by the United Schutzhund Clubs of America
4. The judge was Klaus Wuttge, a full-time shepherd and SV judge in Germany.
5. There were 224 sheep.
6. Trial lasts an hour to an hour-and-a-half.
AKC trial in two weeks. Talk to you soon."

"Hello Margo. Phrygia qualified during today's AKC C-course trial with an 84!
The judge, Gerard Baudet, was French (now living in Rhode Island) and he has Briards. He said the Pipster was the first Beauce he had judged and that he was happy to see a close cousin of the Briard there at the trial. He also commented on our teamwork (that's becoming common)."

January 8, 2004 "Boss (Rascal) is doing great.
Aside from being my constant companion, it seems that two of his favorite people are our 91 year-old grandmother and our 14-month old son, Cody.
He still likes to bark at and sniff everyone else for a about ten seconds before flopping down for a tummy rub." -Trent Wakenight
